LANTRA Health and Safety and Risk Management in Winching
This assessed course leads to a nationally recognised certificate for those reaching the required standard. It is a recommended course for any person who is, or will be, required to operate a hand or mechanical winch on or off the road. maximum of four trainees per instructor.
Covering different winches and techniques, the course content also includes sections on personal protective equipment and safety, the PUWER /LOLER requirements and self recovery.
•Recognition and understanding safe working practices for winch operations
•Preparation and the recovery of a vehicle in an off-road situation or moving an object from point A to point B safely, including correct use of associated equipment and snatch blocks
•Identification of Health & Safety requirements and how to carry out risk assessments before using vehicle mounted or hand operated winches and associated equipment
